Mohamed Salah scores his 200th goal for Liverpool. reaching a double milestone with his 150th Premier League goal

With his goal against Crystal Palace, Mohamed Salah achieved two goalscoring records. In addition to scoring his 200th goal in Liverpool history, he became only the 11th player to reach 150 goals in the Premier League. His historic strike came in Saturday’s game against Palace, his 11th league goal of the year, as Jurgen Klopp’s team looked to win and climb to the top of the standings.

With his goal against Crystal Palace, Mohamed Salah scored his 200th goal for Liverpool and his 150th goal overall in the Premier League.

Following Liverpool’s defeat at Selhurst Park to a penalty kick by Jean-Philippe Mateta early in the second half, the Egyptian struck again in the 76th minute to tie the score at one.

Curtis Jones’s header from Cody Gakpo’s cross found its way to Salah, who mercilessly deflected the ball past Nathaniel Clyne to score. Harvey Elliott would increase the time by one second.

Along with Ian Rush, Roger Hunt, Gordon Hodgson, and Billy Liddell, he became just the sixth player in Liverpool history to score 200 goals.

This season, Salah has scored 14 goals across all competitions, with 11 of those goals occurring in 16 Premier League appearances.

In addition, he becomes the 11th player to reach the 150-goal milestone, joining an exclusive club of Premier League forwards, two of which he scored for Chelsea.

Included are English footballers Jermaine Defoe, Frank Lampard, Andy Cole, Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer, and former Liverpool players Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler.

The biggest scorers are Sergio Aguero and Thierry Henry, but the only active players with at least a century and a half goals are Salah and Harry Kane, the second-highest goalscorer in Premier League history.

Salah has become a phenomenon under Jurgen Klopp since joining from AS Roma in the summer of 2017.

The 31-year-old was a key player in the Reds’ successful Champions League run in 2018–19 and scored 19 goals to help Liverpool win their first Premier League title in 2019–20.

He scored five goals to help Liverpool defeat Tottenham Hotspur in the championship game. He also scored a penalty kick in the second minute to give Klopp’s team the lead in a historic 2-0 victory.

In his first season back in the English top division, Salah scored a career-high 32 goals in a single league campaign, earning him the first of his three Premier League golden boots.

With 22 and 23 goals in 2018/19 and 2021–2022, respectively, he shared second and third place.
