HBO has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to film and promote the third season of this film. The first season of the show was filmed in Hawaii and won 10 awards out of 20 nominations at the Emmy Awards. The second season was broadcast in 2022, with the main setting in Sicily (Italy) and won 5 awards out of 23 nominations at the Emmy Awards.

In both previous seasons, The White Lotus was filmed at the Four Seasons Hotel. Since this hotel chain also has branches in Bangkok and Koh Samui, there is a high possibility that this place will continue to be chosen as a filming location for future episodes.
