Moana is getting the live-action treatment, and the remake will see the return of the mythological and human cast of characters. The Disney playbook of adapting its historic catalog of animated movies into live-action “reimaginings” has been immensely successful in theaters and on Disney Plus. Disney has produced many live-action movie remakes of its classic animated features. Some of these remakes have been hits at the box office, like The Lion King, which grossed $1.7 billion (via Box Office Mojo).
