‘Feel Sorry For Him’: Tiger Woods’s Ex-Rival Harshly Disses His Poor Majors Strategy in Latest Revelation

As many of you will agree, this season did not look good for the goat. Tiger Woods has given some of the worst performances of his career this year, and his fellow golfers are not letting go of the chance to take a jab at him. Earlier this year, Colin Montgomerie attacked Woods with remarks that his game was done for and he should retire, and now another golfer is ready to fire up at the golf legend.

The 82-time PGA Tour winner’s 2005 U.S. Open rival, Michael Campbell, had somewhat stern but realistic words to say regarding Woods’s performance. The 55-year-old suggested that TW should rethink his gameplay strategy. “He needs to maybe rethink his schedule because you can’t do that. I know he’s Tiger Woods, but he can’t just go into a tournament having not played for three or four months and come back and expect to play well. It’s the major issue he has,” said Campbell.

The New Zealander golfer also praised the prime-time Woods, and comparing the two, he said, “It’s a real shame. Through my whole career, I played a lot with him. He was awesome. To see how he’s playing now… I feel sorry for him,” per Bunkered. And well, it is kind of true. Okay, before you get all ‘How could you say that about The Tiger Woods’, give this a thought.

Without a doubt, Woods is one of the most extraordinary players the golf industry has seen, but one could argue that doesn’t necessarily mean he is still the best. For instance, the 15-time major champions 2024 performance included missed cuts at the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, and the Open Championship. And as if that wasn’t enough, the one competition Woods did finish was the Masters Tournament, where he rested dead last at T60.

The golfer had some of the best years of his career when he was younger, his 15 major wins, 82 Tour wins, and his net worth of billions are a testament to it. But now that he is 48, his body is not helping him very much retain the charm he once had. But did that make him quit the sport? No, not at all! In fact, Woods is looking forward to playing more.Tiger Woods’s plan for the future

We’re sure you remember the Colin Montgomerie-Tiger Woods feud that set the golf industry ablaze. Not because of what Montgomerie said, but because of how the golf legend replied. Woods reminded everyone of his legendary status when he said, “Well, as a past champion, I’m exempt. Colin’s not.” Woods had earned the right to keep playing until he thought otherwise. It’s inspiring to see him refuse to give up, and recently, Padraig Harrington also said that Woods has plans to play on the Champions Tour and that the latter is looking forward to defeating the Irish golfer.

And as a past champion, Woods has done quite a lot for the industry and has achieved so much. He has also inspired so many golfers, like Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy, and if that’s not enough, several golfers look up to him as well. The PGA Tour recognizes his impact; hence, recently, PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan announced that Tiger Woods, an 82-time champion, has been granted a lifetime exemption to compete in the signature events starting in 2025.

Woods will next be seen in the PNC Championship with his son, Charlie Woods, and then his customary appearance at the Hero World Challenge is scheduled too. So, what do you think of the 48YO’s plans? Let us know in the comment section below!
