Taylor Swift fans have waded in on the Omid Scobie scandal after the royal biographer claimeds the international superstar snubbed King Charles on his Coronation.

Fans of the popstar, dubbed Swifties, are renowned for staunchly defending the singer from any negative claims made against her and Omid, 42, is the latest to feel their wrath.

In his latest book, Endgame, Omid claimed that the pop icon, 33, turned down an offer to perform at King Charles’ coronation in May, ignoring the fact she was performing a show in America for her sell-out Eras Tour.

One outraged fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: ‘Look at this utterly shameless lying.

‘Taylor Swift was in the middle of her Eras Tour – I was at the Nashville show the night of the Coronation.’

Swifties were also quick to point out that the Shake it Off singer also turned down a handwritten offer by Meghan Markle to appear on her podcast – which was not mentioned in Scobie’s explosive book.

Scobie noted that other musicians also declined invitations to perform at the Coronation, to the point that it was ‘a challenge’ for organisers to find artists for the event.

One person warned: ‘He really really, really doesn’t want to start with Taylor. He thought the Royal Family was tough. He hasn’t seen what enraged Swifties can do. Should have asked somebody, dude.’

The point was proven after swathes of Swifties took to X to share their disgust.

One offended Swiftie wrote on X: ‘Calling Omid Scobie a Royal Expert is laughable and a bit of a stretch. He is more Harry and Meghan’s mouthpiece and it was proven in court.’

Another wrote: ‘Omid Scobie didn’t learn to never annoy the Swifites or to always tell the truth. It’s really stupid to lie about an easily checked fact.’

The royal reporter is currently in the spotlight after he refused to apologise to the two royals the Dutch version of his book claimed had ‘concerns’ over Prince Archie’s skin colour – after both Endgame translators insisted the names were in the manuscript they were sent.

He placed the blame squarely on the publisher in the Netherlands – and denied it was part of a money-spinning ‘stunt’ to shift more copies globally, as he declared: ‘I never submitted a book that had those names in it’.

It came after it was revealed that Buckingham Palace is now ‘considering all options’ – including legal action – over the royal race row stoked by Omid’s ‘poisonous’ new book on the monarchy.

Legal experts have also suggested Harry and Meghan should sue Endgame’s author for breach of privacy, after he revealed he had seen the names on letters exchanged between Meghan and King Charles III.

The Sussexes’ favoured royal reporter has been accused of ‘virtually confirming’ the names in his first British TV appearance on ITV’s This Morning on Thursday.

He started with a denial that he is ‘Meghan’s mouthpiece’, Omid offered no mea culpa or apology for the error and when asked if he was upset he said: ‘I am obviously frustrated. I wouldn’t say I am upset about it.’

He continued: ‘The reality, though, is that this is information that is not privy just to me. Journalists across Fleet Street have known those names for a long time. We’ve all followed a certain code of conduct when it comes to talking about it.

‘It’s frustrating that now what’s going on in the Netherlands with the book that was obviously immediately rescinded and is now being reprinted has happened, and I’m glad to hear so. But for me, I can only talk about the English version of the book that I wrote and produced.’

But royal experts, several of them experienced journalists, told MailOnline today that Omid is mistaken if he believes that the names were common knowledge, with some doubting whether the names can be correct.
