In a candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor revealed the true reason behind her decision to embark on an indefinite hiatus. The Reason Sandra Bullock Wants a Break from Acting

The Oscar-winning actor, Sandra Bullock announced in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that she would be stepping away from the spotlight to spend more time with her two children, Louis and Laila. She elaborated further on her busy schedule and how she has not been as active in her personal life as she would like to be. Although she also expressed gratitude for the steady stream of income she has been fortunate enough to receive, she now is in search of some peace and quiet. adding that she doesn’t know precisely how long the break may last. She said,

“I don’t want to be beholden to anyone’s schedule other than my own. I’m so burnt out. I’m so tired, and I’m so not capable of making healthy, smart decisions, and I know it,”

Sandra Bullock hasn’t said anything yet about returning back to the industry

After relying on her work to validate her feelings for the longest time, the actor came to a profound realization of how misguided that approach had been over the years. Thus, she further elaborated,

“It was like opening up a fridge all the time and looking for something that was never in the fridge,–I said to myself, ‘Stop looking for it here because it doesn’t exist here. You already have it; establish it, find it and be okay not having work to validate you.’”

She now understands that what she was truly seeking wasn’t within the industry but close to her heart, in the comfort of her home. As a result, she made the firm decision that it was high time to take some well-deserved time off.
