Atletico Madrid stars Antoine Griezmann and Filipe Luis took advantage of an evening off to celebrate the release of Hollywood’s latest blockbuster ‘The Fate of the Furious’ and even brought presents for some of the stars.
Charlize Theron joins Vin Diesel in the eighth (EIGHTH!) instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise, which enjoyed its swanky premiere in the Spanish capital on Wednesday evening.
Being home to some of the world’s most talented footballers, it is no surprise that two of Atletico’s most recognisable faces were drafted in to welcome them, even presenting them with appropriately personalised replica shirts.

Both Theron and Diesel have had something of a hectic week of promotion as their new film prepares to be released across Europe.
Indeed, this week alone they attended premieres in Berlin and Paris before finally heading to Madrid, hyping up a franchise that has generated Β£1 billion at the box office and has two more films penciled in for release in 2019 and 2021.
They are due in London next week in what will undoubtedly be the jewel in the tour’s crown before the film is released worldwide on April 14, where fans will be able to view it inΒ 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D.

But Griezmann and Luis have themselves been busy, playing twice for Atletico Madrid in the space of three days. Last Saturday, they beat Malaga 2-0 before sealing a narrow 1-0 win over Real Sociedad on Tuesday.
Impressively, Brazilian defender Luis scored in both games, representing his only two goals for Diego Simeone’s men this season.
Maximum points from those two games elevated them above Sevilla and into third place, which would give them direct passage to the Champions League next season.
