The sky is officially falling — Steph Curry did not hit a three-pointer in an NBA game.

The Golden State Warriors superstar Curry finished Sunday’s victory over the Portland Trail Blazers with an uncharacteristic eight points. He shot just 2-for-12 from the field and missed all eight of his three-point attempts. As a result, Curry’s vaunted streak of 268 straight games with a made triple was finally snapped.

Along with Mikal Bridges’ consecutive games played streak and LeBron James’ streak of consecutive games with double-digit points, Curry’s three-point streak was in the pantheon of active milestones in the NBA today. His streak was by far the longest of its kind in league history and lasted for the equivalent of 3.27 full NBA seasons. In fact, the last time Curry played in a game without splashing a trey came more than five years ago in Nov. 2018.

The greatest shooter in basketball history probably didn’t mind his streak being busted though. Golden State still won 118-114, and Curry’s teammates, who have largely been invisible this season, did the heavy lifting (especially Klay Thompson, who had 28 points, and Andrew Wiggins, who put up 25).

It has been a weekend of longstanding benchmarks coming to an end in the NBA. A couple of days ago, Curry’s old co-star Kevin Durant had an amazing streak of his own finally come to an end too.
