Man Utd player ratings vs West Ham: Erik ten Hag’s timid Red Devils suffer a costly loss as Rasmus Hojlund fails once again to capitalize on an egregious attack that also features blunders from Andre Onana and Kobbie Mainoo

Manchester United lost 2-0 against West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag started club graduate Willy Kambwala and Jonny Evans at the back.

Man United was wobbly and despondent throughout.

After six minutes, Mohammed Kudus doubled West Ham’s lead after Jarrod Bowen broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute.

The Red Devils were flat all night and unthreatening in the final third.

Player Ratings

Andre Onana: 5/10

Onana made two good stops but was unlucky with Bowen’s shot. He may have positioned better for the second goal.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 5/10

Red Devils missed Diogo Dalot’s right-wing attacking drive.

Wan-Bissaka must achieve more to secure a long-term contract at Man United.

Willy Kambwala—6/10

An impressive debut for the kid.

Jonny Evans: 5/10

A more proactive defender would have closed the space and prevented Kudus from striking as freely as Evans.

Luke Shaw: 6/10

England’s international was a standout for United today.

Kobbie Mainoo: 5/10

The 18-year-old was confident in midfield until his misplaced ball gave West Ham its second goal.

Scott McTominay: 3/10

He was a passenger all day and had no ball skills. Christian Eriksen must replace him next game.

Bruno Fernandes: 5/10

The United captain played some good through-balls to keep the game going. However, his performance was much below his expectations.

Alejandro Garnacho: 4/10

Garnacho should have put Man United ahead in the first half but missed a one-on-one against Alphonse Areola.

Antony: 4/10

The Brazilian made another pointless display besides his pass to Garnacho.

Rasmus Hojlund: 4/10

Hojlund needs greater service, but he must also do more. The hookup occurred before an hour.

Rashford – 4/10 as a substitute.

The 26-year-old failed to make an impact in over 30 minutes.

Facundo Pellistri: 5/10

Another attacking player who had no influence.

Sergio Reguilon—NA

Too late to rate.

Christian Eriksen—NA

Too late to rate.
