Injured Real Madrid duo working hard during holiday to return early

After a brief hiatus, Real Madrid will be looking to safeguard their first position in the La Liga title race as well as begin their journey in the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup.

While injuries have drained the squad considerably, the Merengues are expected to reclaim two of their biggest assets soon after the Christmas Break, Vinicius Jr. and Eduardo Camavinga.

The duo suffered injuries in the recent international break. Camavinga sustained a torn knee ligament, while Vinicius had been diagnosed with a tear in his left femoral bicep.

However, their return edges closer with AS shedding light on their eagerness to return on an immediate basis.

Putting in the hours

Even though they have a week off, Vinicius and Camavinga are putting in the hours to ensure a quick return.

Both players are making sure to continue their recuperation work at the Los Angeles Galaxy team’s facilities, with the pair training both indoors and outdoors.

Camavinga works out with his physical trainer, Thomas Serafin, completing circuits of both aerobic and anaerobic exercises as well as touching the ball.

Meanwhile, Vinicius is engaging in speed series in an effort to return to Real Madrid’s group training sessions as soon as possible.

The Brazilian was initially ruled out for two and a half months, but he has progressed remarkably during his recovery process.

Even so, Real Madrid have previously urged Vinicius not to rush his recovery, as medical staff feels that if he returns earlier than expected, he may experience problems later on.

Both Vinicius and Camavinga will face a race against time to get fit for the Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Atletico Madrid on January 10.
