Britney Spears declares she’ll ‘NEVER return to the music industry’ – as she denies reports of working with Charli XCX and Julia Michaels on a new album

Britney Spears has angrily denied two reports that she is currently working on her tenth album, and claims that she had enlisted Julia Michaels and Charli XCX to help out as songwriters.

‘Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash!’ Spears, 42, began her post on Wednesday, adding: ‘They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album… I will never return to the music industry!’

It seemed that Spears was referencing two reports from The US Sun and PageSix that claimed the Toxic singer had begun work on a new record, which would have been her first album in eight years.

Far from releasing music, Spears then claimed in her post that she now prefers life behind the spotlight, working as a ghostwriter for other pop stars.

‘When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!! For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads that you don’t know about me … I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!!’ she explained.

‘I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!! People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that’s far from the truth … have you read the news these days ??? I’m so LOVED and blessed !!!’

Among tracks that Spears has written for other artists include Whiplash by Selena Gomez and Follow Me by her sister Jamie Lynn Spears.

Her last studio album called Glory was released in 2016.

The outlet’s sources reported that Britney, 42, has not yet recorded any music at this time

Charli’s involvement was first reported by The Sun, per Page Six.

Britney was originally working on her 10th studio album after she split from husband Sam Asghari, but it ended up being put on hold to focus on her memoir.

‘She has an upcoming writers camp and is getting songs from some big artists, per Page Six’s insider at the time, until her album was postponed.

Charli XCX, 31, is also a singer, with huge hits like ‘Boom Clap,’ ‘Break The Rules,’ ‘I Love It’ with Icona Pop, ‘Fancy’ with Iggy Azalea, and ‘Dirty Sexy Money’ with David Guetta and Afrojack.

She has written hit songs for Madison Beer – her tune ‘Hurts Like Hell’ with Offset, Selena Gomez with ‘Same Old Love,’ ‘Beg For It’ for Iggy Azalea, ‘Senorita’ for Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, and more.

Julia, 30, is a singer and songwriter; she has previously worked on Britney’s Glory album – on the tune ‘Better,’ and ‘Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortes),’ ‘Don’t Tell It,’ ‘Do You Wanna Come Over?’, ‘Invitation,’ ‘Just Like You,’ ‘Just Luv Me.’ ‘Slumber Party,’

Some of her biggest hits she’s written include: Selena Gomez’ ‘Lose You To Love Me,’ ‘Boyfriend,’ Look At Her Now,’ ‘Bad Liar,’ ‘Hands To Myself,’ ‘Me & The Rhythm,’ ‘Good For You,’ and ‘Slow Down.’
