Diane And Robert Argue About Sonny’s Charges, Can They Keep The Courtroom Out Of Their Relationship?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) will clash over Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) charges.

Diane is Sonny’s defense attorney and Robert is the District Attorney-can they keep the courtroom out of their relationship?

General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus Renault Didn’t Deserve The Beating

Robert may not care for Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) but he didn’t deserve the beating Sonny gave him unprovoked.

Robert thinks Cyrus was just a convenient target for Sonny to take out his anger and frustration on –an unarmed man at least in his seventies, Sonny could have killed him.

Robert doesn’t understand how Diane can defend Sonny for such an indefensible act-years of loyalty or not, Cyrus’ statement was he didn’t fight back even though Sonny was daring him to.

Robert likens Cyrus’ attack to elder abuse, and he’s never trusted Sonny-he’s never understood anyone defending him.

For Robert, Cyrus and Sonny are two evils and, in this case, Cyrus is the lesser of them-Sonny is nearly as bad as a Cassadine.

GH Spoilers: Diane Miller Has The Opposite Opinion

Diane has defended Sonny for years, except when it came to the SEC case where she defended Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).

She has the opposite opinion from Robert when it comes to Sonny, seeing why he would strike out against Cyrus, who has a longer rap sheet than Sonny!

Sonny pretty much refuses to defend himself as to why he beat Cyrus, other than he just found out Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) betrayed him.

Cyrus had “taunted” Sonny to forgive Nina who’d confessed to turning Carly and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC.

Diane is strongly advising Sonny to dissolve the marriage to Nina as soon as possible but Sonny is stalling on it.

General Hospital Spoilers: An Argument Ensues Over Diane Miller’s Defense

An argument ensues over Diane’s defense of Sonny, and even though Robert has no love lost for Cyrus, he sees him as a frail old man. He was beaten and nearly died in prison after saving Drew’s life from his beating, and Robert gives him brownie points for that.

Diane maintains Cyrus’ frailty is nothing but a lie and he’s as strong as ever and glosses over Sonny’s lack of provocation, and her and Robert’s argument turns ugly.

Can Diane and Robert keep the courtroom out of their relationship, or will their widely differing opinions about Cyrus and Sonny break them up?

They knew they’d oppose each other in court, but this courtroom battle is too personal for both of them!
