17-year-old boy graduates US university before finishing high school, set to become a Neurosurgeon

A brilliant 17-year-old boy named Abram Lewis has graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University Northwest, Indiana United States despite still being a high school student.

Abram is a teen from Gary who was able to juggle both his high school and college classes simultaneously. He bagged his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University Northwest, Indiana in the United States.

He attends his classes at 21st Century Charter School, a school under Geo Academies, a system of charters where he received credits for both degrees simultaneously due to how the curriculum is designed, according to WISH-TV.

“When I realized I really wanted to get a head start in my career, I put my mind to it, and here I am,” he said.

Abram obtained his associate’s degree two years ago while also still in high school. He initially started taking college credits at Ivy Technology before he transferred to Purdue Northwest University.

He was honored by a coalition of Black leaders in Indianapolis together with his friend who also achieved the same feat as his. They were recognized by the State of Indiana at the celebration for their dedication to education.

Abram mentioned that he is driven by his desire to learn and get ahead adding that he hopes his story encourages others to do the same. “Push your limits. Figure out what can you do and how do you make it like you want to do it,” he said.

Abram mentioned that he would like to go to medical school with plans to become a neurosurgeon in the future.
