The problem of crazy fans of Kpop artists seen from the story of Jungkook and V (BTS)

The issue of crazy fans invading idols’ privacy is no longer a strange thing in Kpop. However, the impact of this situation is becoming more and more serious, causing idols like Jungkook ( BTS ) to also speak up.

The Kpop industry is showing strong growth and development, but it also brings with it many consequences.

One of the problems that causes artists and companies to get into trouble is the crazy fan syndrome.

Many crazy fans stalk, harass, and threaten the lives of artists, which is always a difficult problem to solve.

Besides the fans who love their idols in a civilized way, there are still many crazy fans who will defy everything to pursue their idols. They have been affecting the mental health of Kpop artists and sometimes causing dangerous situations.

These people are often called “sasaeng fans”, they are willing to follow their idols everywhere, from the company to their home. Crazy fans try to find and buy private information and schedules of their idols from airline ticket agents, just to satisfy their strange love.

Kpop idols, especially artists with a high level of popularity, almost have to live in fear of being constantly followed and stalked.

Recently, a 30-year-old woman (let’s call her A) was arrested for the crime of following, stalking, and invading the privacy of V (BTS). This woman stood waiting in front of V’s house. After the male idol entered the apartment, A tried to approach and start a conversation with him. A also left the marriage certificate at the male idol’s door. It is known that A also had a history of stalking V in the past.

Previously, member Jungkook spoke up many times about violating the privacy of crazy fans. Specifically, in May, during a chat on the Weverse platform, Jungkook frankly asked fans to stop sending food to the male idol’s home.

Jungkook shared: “Please don’t order food sent to my house anymore. Even if you send it, I won’t eat it. I’m very grateful for your kindness, but I can eat enough by myself. So please let me know.” Just buy it for yourself.

I really hope you guys do this. If this situation continues, we will check the phone number in the order code on the receipt and take appropriate measures. So please stop.”

In addition, Jungkook often receives harassing calls or is followed to practice. What’s worse is that many of them use the information they have to threaten and blackmail celebrities. The male idol’s tough actions show the seriousness of the crazy fan.

To deal with “seseang fans”, management companies often blacklist these people, restricting them from attending autograph sessions or approaching idols. In addition, if crazy fans accidentally get caught on camera, the company will not cover their faces like normal cases, this is considered a form of warning, preventing them from continuing to harass the artists.

In addition, during artists’ tours, hotels and companies often book entire floors, increasing the level of protection. Besides, to prevent crazy fans from blending in with the crew, hotel key cards often restrict access to the floor where guests are staying.

It can be seen that the “seseang fan” situation is at an alarming level and threatens the daily lives of artists. Idols are already very hard-working and under a lot of pressure. After working, they also need their own space. Therefore, please support your idols properly and respect their privacy.
