61-year-old man bags bachelors degree with 4.84CGPA, emerges overall best graduating student

A 61-year-old Nigerian man named Sobowale Babatunde has won the award of the overall best graduating student at the University of Lagos, Nigeria after he bagged his bachelor degree with 4.84 cumulative grade point average.

Sobowale emerged the overall best graduating student of the Distance Learning Institute (DLI) at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business administration with 4.84 over possible 5.00 cumulative grade point average from the institute.

Because of his thirst for knowledge and unwavering dedication to education, he enrolled in the university to earn an additional degree. Sobowale holds qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management.

He also has earned a Higher Diploma in Business Management Technology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management.

Sobowale’s colleagues and friends describe him as one who is modest, unassuming, articulate, and outgoing individual with a tender but hardworking disposition to life. One of his classmates stated that he is committed to his studies and has a disciplined personality.

The director of the Institute, Risikat Dauda congratulated him on his outstanding achievement. She stated that his journey to academic excellence is an inspiring testament to the power of dedication to lifelong learning.

In another story, a 60-year-old man named Farouk Sanni who enrolled in the university after he retired has bagged graduated from the University of Ibadan with a bachelor’s degree and was awarded 8 awards as the best-graduating student of his department.
