A brilliant lady named Mistura Eniola Bello has won the best-graduating student award at the University of Lagos, Nigeria after bagging a master’s degree in History with distinctions.
Mistura obtained her master’s degree in History and Strategic Studies at the University of Lagos, Nigeria with an outstanding 4.78 distinction grade. She took to Linkedin to celebrate her achivement.
She stated that starting the masters degree was a difficult task as she had to juggle work and academics between Ogun State and Lagos State Nigeria. Mistura said she was nervous as she needed to maintain the excellence she had earned in her undergraduate studies.
Mistura bagged her Ordinary National Diploma at Yaba College of Technology with distinctions before she proceeded to Tai Solarin University of Education where she earned a bachelor’s degree in History and Diplomatic Studies with first-class honors.
Mistura said that after receiving a lot of pressure, she focused completely on achieving a perfect 4.00 GPA for her PhD. However, when she received her grades for the first semester and saw all As she realized that she only needed to put in a small amount of effort.
She said not only did she have a Distinction but doubled as the Best Graduating Student in the Department. Mistura mentioned that she is excited to have maintained the merit she built on her academic journey.’
Mistura said the postgraduate experience was transformational. She also won the Best Dissertation of Social and Urban History which she described as a reward for her hard work and determination.
She stated that her dissertation was titled History of Migration, Settlement Pattern and Intergroup Relation in Colonial and Post-Colonial Lagos up to 2019. Mistura said she is grateful to God for this feat of being a Two-Time Best Graduating Student.
She expressed her gratitude to her senior colleagues, at the Department of History and Diplomatic Studies, Tai Solarin University of Education for their support and understanding during her studies.
She also thanked her dissertation supervisor at the Department of History and Strategic Studies, University of Lagos stating their correction and contribution to her research helped her.
Mistura stated that she is looking forward to the next phase of her academic endeavors adding that she hopes to continue smashing those goals.
