Daredevil Has Already Teamed Up With An Avenger – MCU Theory Explained

Based upon new reveals in the MCU timeline, it’s possible that Matt Murdock’s Daredevil may have already teamed up with one of the Avengers.

An exciting theory suggests Daredevil might have already had a team-up with one of the Avengers in the MCU. Thanks to some key timeline reveals in Marvel’s Echo, it’s been confirmed that Matt Murdock was one of the heroes who survived the Snap. To that end, it’s quite possible that Daredevil could have worked with one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Matt Murdock first debuted in Netflix’s Daredevil series which ran for three seasons alongside Netflix’s other Marvel shows: Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders crossover with all four heroes, and The Punisher, a spin-off series from Daredevil season 2. Although these heroes were loosely connected to the MCU, the events of these shows were largely only connected to each other before they were canceled in 2019. However, Murdock has since made a handful of MCU appearances, and his most recent one suggests Daredevil might have secretly joined forces with one of the original Avengers.

Marvel’s Echo Confirms Daredevil Survived The Blip

Operating in New York During The Snap

As seen in Marvel’s Echo, the origins of Maya Lopez are revealed, including her past during the MCU’s five-year Blip. With her father having been killed by the Ronin, Wilson Fisk’s Kingpin became Maya’s surrogate father. To that end, Maya then became one of Fisk’s captains, though her first mission working for Fisk put her face to face with none other than Daredevil himself.

Although their battle ended in a draw, this brief appearance from Daredevil in Echo confirms that he also survived the five-year Blip rather than being snapped out of existence thanks to Thanos. Furthermore, Echo also confirms that Daredevil was actively working in New York during the Blip, monitoring Kingpin’s operations and those of his rivals in the city’s criminal underworld. This is rather interesting given the fact that someone else in the MCU was confirmed to be operating as a vigilante in New York during this same period.

Hawkeye’s Ronin Could Have Crossed Paths With Daredevil

Ronin Was Also Working In New York

After losing his family thanks to the Snap, Clint Barton’s Hawkeye became incredibly brutal and vindictive against all the criminals who’d been spared. As such, Clint went off the grid, becoming a vengeful vigilante all over the world, taking the name Ronin and wielding an impressive sword. As seen in flashbacks to the Blip in 2021’s HawkeyeNew York was one of the first cities Ronin hit before he went overseas to go after cartels in Mexico and the Yakuza in Toyko.

Having gone after the Tracksuit Mafia in New York, Ronin was tipped off to a meeting on the orders of Kingpin himself as a means to covertly gain more power in the criminal underworld. While Fisk was ultimately responsible for the death of Maya’s father who led the Tracksuits, Ronin was the one who did the deed. Regardless, there’s a strong implication that both Daredevil and Ronin were operating as vigilantes in New York at the same time. As such, one has to wonder if Murdock and Barton ever crossed paths or perhaps even worked together during the Blip.

The MCU Could Confirm A Team-Up Happened in Daredevil: Born Again

Matt Murdock and Clint Barton May Have Some History

There have been rumors and theories that the MCU’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again show may spend some time during the Blip. Exploring the past could potentially explain Kingpin’s surprising status as a free man given the ending of Daredevil season 3 where he was headed for prison. There are also ideas that Murdock’s best friends Karen Page and Foggy Nelson were perhaps victims of the Snap as well.

Assuming that that’s true and flashbacks to the Blip are in the cards for Daredevil: Born Againa Ronin/Daredevil team-up in the upcoming MCU show could certainly be plausible. Especially if Daredevil lost those he cared about as well, Matt Murdock and Clint Barton would have quite a bit in common if they did indeed cross paths ahead of Avengers: Endgame where everyone was brought back thanks to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
