A young lady named Ijeoma Omenugha who won the Chevening Scholarship has bagged her master’s degree at the Queen Mary University of London in the United Kingdom.
Ijeoma Omenugha is a Nigerian who obtained her bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at Ebonyi State Univerity, Nigeria before she proceeded to the United Kingdom to further her postgraduate studies.
She took to Linkedin to celebrate earning her master’s degree at Queen Mary University of London in the United Kingdom. Ijeoma bagged the degree in Global Public Health and Policy at the university’s Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry.
”I recently graduated with an MSc in Global Public Health and Policy from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry Queen Mary University of London,” iIjeoma said.
Ijeoma mentioned that her master’s program was fully funded by the prestigious Chevening Awards. She said her dissertation examined the effectiveness of policy interventions aimed at developing and sustaining human resources for health in Low and Middle-income countries.
She stated that her research found that various international anti-recruitment policies have not been effective due to implementation challenges adding that it has been challenging to implement national-level interventions in low-income countries.
She said she researched for the focus to shift from tightening immigration laws to identifying and addressing push factors and pull factors affecting health workers’ intention to migrate.
Ijeoma expressed her gratitude to her family, friends, and teachers for their immense support in helping her scale her professional aspirations. She also thanked the Chevening Awards for giving her the opportunity.
