Serena Williams shows off a slimmer figure in tiny bikini

Working to get back into top tennis form has paid off for Serena Williams in the way of a more svelte figure.

The 29-year-old confidently strutted around Miami Beach, Florida today in a mis-matched pink and black bikini that showed off her newly slimmed down body.

The 13-time Grand Slam champion frolicked in the water and was later walking around the sand.

Top form: Serena Williams showed off her her slimmed down figure today as she strutted around the beach in Miami, Florida

But she came close to a double fault as her bikini top clearly struggled to contain her ample bosom.

On Wednesday night Serena was looking fantastic in a bright fuchsia jacket and suit that hugged every curve of her body as she attended the ESPY awards in Los Angeles.

The tennis ace flashed her cleavage with a plunging neckline which she showed off as she took to the stage to pick up the award for Best Female Tennis Player.

Slimmed down curves: Serena’s bikini body is clearly more svelte than it was back in April will she was pictured in a different bikini

Serena, who was forced to take time out from the tennis world after suffering various injuries as well as a life-threatening pulmonary embolism, has said she has been trying out different exercises to stay in the best shape possible.

She said: ‘I wanted to get really fit. I wanted to lose some weight. So I’ve been doing Pilates and yoga, trying to lean out my body so I won’t be bulky.’

And while the sports star seems to enjoy flaunting her figure, she also spoke openly about her struggle to accept her figure and adopt a healthy attitude about diet and exercise.

Svelte: Venus has said she’s ‘been doing Pilates and yoga’ to lose weight and slim down

She said recently: ‘Since I don’t look like every other girl, it takes a while to be okay with that. To be different. But different is good.

‘My smile remains my favourite part of my body. Does that count? I think a smile can make your whole body!’

And referring to the prospect of dieting, Serena said: ‘I don’t even know the D word. Smaller portions of every meal, a lot of grilled or baked chicken or fish, and steamed veggies.

Award winner: Serena was named Best Female Tennis Player earlier this week at the Espy Awards

‘But I can never turn down a good piece of cherry pie. All I know is that in 10 years, I don’t want to be as wide as this couch.’

Serena, who exited Wimbledon by being ousted by Marion Bartoli in the forth round, is gearing up for the U.S. Open which begins August 29.
