Ferland Mendy is one of the few players facing an uncertain future at Santiago Bernabeu ahead of the coming summer.
The former Lyon fullback has remained a crucial part of the Real Madrid first-team. But his importance in the team has dissipated, to an extent, in recent years.
That is largely due to Mendy’s injury woes, with the defender suffering from several knocks over the past couple of years.
In fact, this season appears to be Mendy’s fittest season in three years, even though the defender had been suffering from a muscle knock in the summer.
Mendy offered renewal deal
Ferland Mendy’s injury woes, coupled with his limited ceiling have led many to question his long-term future at the Bernabeu.
Nevertheless, Real Madrid appear to still rate the defender highly and have offered him several renewal deals, reports Jose Felix Diaz (h/t Madrid Xtra).

Mendy’s current deal at the Bernabeu expires in 2025, meaning failing to renew him in the summer could make him eligible to sign pre-contract agreements next year.
Mendy not interested, yet
Jose Felix Diaz, though, points that Real Madrid’s offers have not impressed Ferland Mendy, who is yet to agree to any of them.
It appears the Frenchman wants an assured role in the starting eleven in the years to come – something Real Madrid cannot guarantee.
The Spanish giants have already been linked with a move for Alphonso Davies, while youngster Fran Garcia has also made significant strides this season.
With that in mind, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Mendy in the coming summer. Earlier reports suggest that Los Blancos could be ready to cash in if they receive a bid of around €20 million in the summer.
