Justin Bieber revealed he suffered a ‘little bit of an emotional breakdown’ after tying the knot with Hailey Baldwin and realizing marriage wasn’t going to ‘fix’ all his problems.
‘It’s a journey,’ Justin, 28, said during an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden, according to People. ‘I remember when I first got married, I hit a little bit of an emotional breakdown because I thought marriage was going to fix all my problems and it didn’t.’
‘It just kind of was a reflection of like, man, you’re a bit of a hypocrite man.’

‘You want your wife to do something that you’re not doing and it’s like, it’s hard sometimes to look in the mirror and really have to realize, man, maybe you’re not the person that you necessarily thought that you were,’ he added. ‘And that’s just a result of trauma and life circumstances.’
Justin and Hailey tied the knot twice after rekindling their romance in 2018; first at a courthouse in New York City in 2018, followed by a second ceremony with friends and family present at Bluffton, South Carolina in 2019.
In the four years since tying the knot, the couple have faced their fair share of challenges, most recently overcoming Hailey’s health scare.
In 2021, Hailey revealed she turned to her mother Kennya during a difficult time in their marriage.

‘I remember I called her a few different times, one particular time when we were in Brooklyn and I was calling her, I was crying, and I was like, “I just can’t do it. There’s no way that I’m going to be able to do this if it’s going to be like this forever,”‘ she said on the In Good Faith with Chelsea & Judah Smith podcast.
‘And I just remember she was so calm on the phone and she was like, “It’s going to pass, and you’re going to be fine and he’s going to be healthy and we’re here for you,”‘ she said.
Hailey also said she was glad to have stuck by him despite all their trials and tribulations.

‘I was in it. I made a decision. I know for a fact that I’ve loved this person for a very long time and now would not be the time to give up on him. I just wouldn’t do that to him,’ she admitted.
‘Imagine abandoning somebody in the middle of the worst time of their life, potentially. I’m not that type of a person. So I was going to stick it out no matter what the outcome was going to be.’
Justin has been balancing his personal life with his music career.
Mr. and Mrs. Bieber: The couple looked loved-up at the Grammy Awards last month
In his interview with Ebro, Justin revealed he has been working on his next album.
‘I don’t think there’s a date yet, but I do know that we’re wrapping it up,’ he said, according to Billboard.
‘It’s almost done. It sounds really good. I’m really excited about it. I got a lot of cool features and yeah, it should be dropping not too long from now.’
Justin’s next album will also feature the musical stylings of John Mayer.

Speaking of working with John, he said: ‘Wicked guitar solo, so that was really cool for me.
‘He’s someone who I’ve looked up to for a long time. So we were at Henson the studio, and I was working on this song and he came in and he’s like, “Can I go in the booth?” And I was like, “Yeah, bro, go in.”
‘And so he went in the booth and then he came out and he laid a guitar solo and it was just like, it was mind-blowing to see him actually operate in his gift like that, being able to like see it first-hand, because like he is on another level. It’s insane.’
Justin said the collaborative parts of music creation were incredibly important to him.
‘For me, I was embraced by the older generation,’ he said. ‘For me, I was embraced by the older generation.’
‘And it’s so funny because I’m becoming a little bit of the older generation — not old, but there’s a new generation that’s coming before me, or after me now. And it took for me to be in this position those people that embraced me.
‘So the [Kid] Larois of the world and these new artists, like for me, it’s fulfilling to be able to embrace these young cats and help get their music out there because I know what it’s like to have this vision and want people to hear your music.’
