Chelsea face competition from rivals Manchester United for one of their top summer targets.

Chelsea remain interested in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, according to The Independent.

However, the same outlet has also claimed that Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain will challenge the Blues for his signature and that they are actually emerging as the two main contenders to land him.

The report has stated that Osimhen has a €110m (£94m) release clause in his contract, too.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry recently urged the Nigerian to move to the Premier League in the summer.

Manchester United, PSG and Chelsea all in for Victor Osimhen

It is no surprise to hear that three of the biggest clubs in Europe are after Osimhen. The 25-year-old is one of the best strikers in the game right now.

This season, he has scored 11 goals in 16 Serie A appearances, which includes a hat-trick against Sassuolo. Last term, the Nigeria international netted 26 times in 32 games as Napoli went on to win the title.

When you consider the above, you can see why the likes of United, PSG and Chelsea all want Osimhen.

PSG particularly could do with the Napoli star as Kylian Mbappe edges closer to the Parc des Princes exit door. The World Cup winner’s contract expires at the end of the season and he has once again been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Nevertheless, hopefully Chelsea are the ones who manage to land Osimhen. The kind of firepower that the former Lille man possesses could take the Blues from 11th back into the top four. That is at least what Chelsea fans will be praying for if the club do go on to land Osimhen.

United and PSG, however, look like they will not make it easy for Mauricio Pochettino to get his hands on one of his top targets for the summer.
