Since Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid is imminent, this closes the doors for a certain Erling Haaland for the time being.
Adding to the matter, Julien Laurens has reported that given the turn of events, Premier League side Manchester City are extremely relieved that Los Blancos will not go for their star forward this summer.
“At City, they are relieved that Kylian Mbappe is going to Real Madrid, that closes the door for the moment to Haaland leaving this summer,” said Laurens in AfterRMC.
Mbappe move sealed, but Haaland a future probability
It is to be noted that what’s pending in Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid is nothing but an official announcement, Despite that, though, PSG are not entirely giving up on the player.
This is because they want to recoup at least some part of the €180 million fee they paid Monaco for Mbappe. This means the team from the French capital is insisting the young forward pay a part of the signing-on bonus he would receive from Real Madrid.

As such, they are expecting to secure a fee ranging between €100-150 million from Mbappe’s departure.
Meanwhile, as far as Haaland is concerned, a lot has been said about his future too, given how relatively easy it would be for Real Madrid to sign him in 2025.
At the moment, while City are working on tying him to a long-term deal, nothing has been proposed on paper.
Amidst all this, though, the star forward recently said in a press conference that although he is happy at Man City, he does not rule out a move in the future.
“I’m really happy, especially with the people I’m surrounded by, but tomorrow you never know what the future brings,” said the forward.
As of today, Real Madrid are not expected to shell out big bucks on Haaland this summer as they have Alphonso Davies and a centre-back as their other priorities.
