A club of Real Madrid’s stature does not settle for anything less than victories and when the team plays four draws in last eight matches, it calls for immediate attention.
As such, a report from The Athletic has emerged, quoting that following the run of recent results, the coaching staff has decided to put more emphasis on the players’ physical preparation. As a result, the roster is now set to undergo a special CPAP mask test.
Interestingly enough, sources from the club have told the outlet that while there is a containment over how the season has panned out so far, the general consciousness is to find a solution to better the performances considering the fixture pileup.
What kind of solution?
Interestingly enough, the team will study the players over three parameters, namely strength, speed and endurance.
Last week, they found out that the players have gotten better at quick, powerful movements, which they think is because they have become faster.

In response to these findings, Madrid intend to shift their focus towards endurance, and for that, they are planning to reintroduce CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) masks in the upcoming week.
What is a CPAP mask?
These masks, previously employed by the head of physical training, Antonio Pintus, during recent pre-seasons, play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing players’ oxygen and carbon dioxide levels. This data is then utilized to personalize and optimize their training programs.
The outlet affirms that a new round of CPAP mask tests is scheduled for the players next week, aiming to assess their endurance levels at this specific stage of the season.
Subsequently, the coaching staff will make informed decisions on whether to prioritize endurance training or continue with explosive training, encompassing speed, strength, and power exercises.
As mentioned, Real Madrid’s season has been largely on track, having pocketed the Spanish Super Cup already. The team is leading La Liga at the moment and it remains to be seen how they progress in the UEFA Champions League.
