Toby Keith Will Be Honored With A Tribute Performance At The 2024 CMT Music Awards
The CMT Music Awards just announced its plans to honor Toby Keith with an all-star tribute at its ceremony on April 7.
Keith died on February 5, 2024, following a years-long battle with stomach cancer. In the two months since his passing, Keith has already been recognized by the Country Music Hall of Fame as the Modern Era inductee for the class of 2024.
It turns out that the HOF received the final tally of votes just hours after the news broke about Keith’s death.

On Thursday (April 4) the CMT Music Awards announced that Brooks & Dunn, Lainey Wilson, and Sammy Hagar will deliver the tribute to Toby Keith. Keith’s longtime band will accompany them.
CMT also reports Lukas Nelson and Roger Clemens will make “special appearances” during the tribute.
The CMT Music Awards did not share which songs the all-star artists will perform. One can assume they’ll cycle through a collection of Keith’s biggest hits.
CMT told fans they won’t want to miss this “special” performance in Keith’s honor.

It seems fitting for CMT to honor Keith with this performance. He hosted the CMT Music Awards in 2003 with Pamela Anderson and hosted again in 2012 with Kristen Bell.
