Social media star-turned WWE wrestler Logan Paul has responded to Ronda Rousey after she claimed he had been getting special treatment from the company.
Paul has received rave reviews for his work in wrestling since signing full time with WWE nearly two years ago, enjoying a number of matches against top stars and currently holding the United States Championship.
Starting out as one of the many celebrities that have one-off stints in wrestling, Paul appeared to fall in love with the sport and went full time before becoming a respected member of the roster.
Like Rousey, he was famous before he joined the WWE, though the two star’s journeys, at least so far, have gone in opposite directions. Rousey enjoyed success before leaving late last year, and hasn’t been shy with her criticism of the promotion since.
Speaking on Wild Ride, former UFC star Rousey had said that WWE have been ‘rolling out the red carpet’ for Paul, and suggested treatment is not ‘evenly spread’. Paul, however, speaking on BS with his brother Jake Paul, hit back.

‘I want to approach this from a real mature standpoint because I like Ronda Rousey,’ Logan began. ‘What she’s done in MMA is incredible.
‘We watched her growing up, snapping arms. I have a lot of respect for Ronda Rousey. Every time I’ve met her, it was very amicable. So when she’s saying that, I don’t think it’s a personal attack on me by any means. I don’t feel she’s coming after me. I feel she’s maybe using me as an example to express her dissatisfaction with maybe how she was treated in the WWE. But I can’t speak on that because I don’t know how she was treated.
‘I don’t think she’s a hater. I think she might be unhappy with how her run in the WWE went, but I don’t know anything really about that. All I know is how I work and the facilities and time that I’ve been given to make my matches as best as possible. Because I think the WWE recognises that when I put on a good match, which will happen every single time I perform, the outcome and the reaction of the fans is immense. It fills the audience.
‘I think I’ve proven my value, both in and out the ring, on the mic, wrestling. The impressions that I’m delivering the company are second to none.’
Rousey departed WWE in October last year, claiming she had retired from wrestling before appearing in Lucha VaVoom just weeks later.
She has criticised the likes of Vince McMahon and Triple H since departing, and critisied the company for their treatment of Paul.

Rousey said that WWE is ‘succeeding in spite itself in so many ways’ in her latest rant on her previous employers
She said: ‘He’s great on the mic. He does a great job on the mic. I wish I was allowed the time to rehearse that he gets. It’s not evenly spread. He’s like their next big star. They are rolling out the red carpet. It goes to show that if you give people the time to rehearse and the resources, you can do amazing things. It’s frustrating that everybody doesn’t get that treatment.
‘My first match with them was incredible because we had six weeks to rehearse, all the best minds in the business coming and putting in their two cents and it was an instant classic. Then, they never did it again. I was like, “Why isn’t this the model?”
‘They’re doing that with Logan Paul and he’s having these fantastic performances. Look what you guys can do when you actually put organisation and effort into things. It blows my mind that this billion-dollar company is succeeding in spite itself in so many ways.’
