WWE Hall of Fame star Bill Goldberg has spoken about why he wouldn’t sign for AEW.
The 57-year-old American wrestling legend has been out of the ring for some time now and engaged in talks with AEW president Tony Khan.
The ex-WCW champion gave some brutal criticism of the organisation when asked by 93.7 The Ticket about it.
He said: ‘I’ve talked to him (Tony Khan) a number of times throughout the past.
‘But, you know, and this is where you’re gonna get the most blunt answer you’re gonna get from me. The product is too cheesy. The product is too cheesy.
Bill Goldberg says AEW is ‘too cheesy’ for his tastes and won’t sign with them
Goldberg is a WWE Hall of Famer but it remains to be seen when he’ll be seen in action again
‘It doesn’t deserve to have, I mean, whatever, I mean, now you’re really gonna get me going, but if there was a comparable viable option as a competitor that would allow me to still look myself in the mirror after I was a member of their roster, yeah.
‘Then it would be a consideration. But not a chance.’
It seems Goldberg remains interested in returning to the ring but believes there is a lack of viable alternative to WWE.
He has been vocal about his desire for a retirement match, which was never given to him by his former paymasters.
So it remains to be seen if the wrestling veteran will be seen in action by fans again.
