Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed that Chelsea may have the chance to add one top player to their ranks if they hire his current manager this summer.
He told his Substack that one player with an £86m release clause is looking as if he is going to follow his boss to whichever club he joins this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino under pressure
Mauricio Pochettino is under a lot of pressure right now in his role at Stamford Bridge, with some supporters feeling now is the time to make a change.
A number of names have been linked with the switch to West London, and one being reported strongly in recent days being Ruben Amorim.
It is expected he moves on at the end of this season, with him leaving a great impression as boss of Sporting Lisbon.

It was even reported that he has been studying from the work of Pochettino recently, with a large admiration for the Premier League.
If he was to join, eyes would quickly turn to who he would look to sign to fit his style of play at Stamford Bridge.
Gyokeres likely to follow Amorim this summer
Phillips has claimed that one likely addition would be Viktor Gyokeres, who is currently scoring goals for fun under him in Portugal.
He said: “Ironically, Ruben Amorim, who is still being heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and would be keen on the job, said the squad needed a striker and a centre midfielder last summer when he spoke about the role.
“I’m just playing on things a little here as well, but it’s expected that Viktor Gyokeres will go wherever Amorim goes for his next move.”
Chelsea have previously been linked with the addition of the Sweden international, with them looking at adding a striker to their ranks.
It remains to be seen if they go as high as £86m though, with them certainly seeing signs from Nicolas Jackson that he has a part to play in the coming years.
