The house is owned by Ann and Cameron, who have been AirBnb hosts for six years.

Ann and Cameron described themselves as a married couple who ‘love to travel and host others.’

Since it was the house in the highly anticipated romantic comedy, the women wrote in their post description that the three-bedroom, three-bath property is where The Idea of You ‘was recently filmed.’

The Idea of You is set in Silverlake, California. However, because the movie was filmed in Georgia during the 2022 winter season, all of the trees were bare. The production design team spruced up the yard and added plants that one might see on a typical California property

Production designer Amy Williams revealed that the team found the house on Airbnb before filming began. The team loved the outside of the house, but they felt that the interior features needed to change. Williams and the other production design team members spent two months redesigning different rooms in the house, including a kitchen remodel

The Georgia house, which can accommodate up to six travelers, did not always look like it does today.

According to Forbes, the production team for The Idea of You found the house on Airbnb before filming began.

The production team then spent two months fixing up the home’s interior features ‘to bring back the historic age and personality.’

‘We completely redid the kitchen with custom wooden cabinets, Craftsman-era tiles, and added window panes,’ production designer Amy Williams told House Beautiful.

‘We painted the walls to complement Hathaway’s complexion. All of the paint colors were tested against her skin tone on camera prior to selection.’

Although the production design team loved the home’s exteriors, they still needed to make the Atlanta house look like a California property.

The Idea of You, which was filmed in December 2022, would’ve had trees with bare branches if it weren’t for the production team.

‘We added all of the plants, the bougainvillea climbing up her house, desert plants in the neighbor’s lawn and fake green leaves to all of the surrounding trees,’ said Williams.

‘We did our best to honor the foliage one would find in Silver Lake.’

Once filming was completed, Ann and Cameron decided to keep all of the changes made to their property, which are still there today.

The living room was featured in multiple scenes of The Idea of You. The team created faux wood grain trims in their remodel and they also added wooden beams. One of the notable features of the Georgia home is the unique green-tiled fireplace

The walls in multiple rooms throughout the house were painted to complement Hathaway’s complexion. Williams and the other members of the production team tested out all of the paint colors against Hathaway’s skin before they selected the color. Ann and Cameron have not made any changes to the house after The Idea of You was finished filming

Travelers who enter the property will notice the open-floor plan on the house’s first floor.

They can walk into the living room with a relaxing vibe and a green-tiled fireplace, finished off with a reading nook and newly faux wood grain trims.

The stainless steel appliances in the kitchen appear clean and in excellent condition, but they don’t overpower the wooden cabinets.

The white-colored marble tops are also a fantastic feature since they go well with the kitchen’s paint color and help make the colorful decorations stand out.

Unlike the living room and the kitchen, the dining room has a vintage feel and a colorful rug that complements it.

The table and benches appear to be vintage, and they also match well with the cabinets in the modern, rustic-style kitchen.

Meanwhile, the dining area has unique glass jarred lights over the table.

Anyone who is hoping to take a nap or watch The Idea of You from a bedroom can do so on the first or second floor.

The house includes extra spaces that can be used to relax, including two separate offices and a reading nook. There are also entry ways in different areas of the house that will lead guests to the front porch or the rear deck

Two of the three bedrooms are on the first floor, and they are significantly different from one another.

The first bedroom is a light-colored room with a dark green blanket that almost matches the flowery rug.

It is complete with wooden furniture and a dark brown chair that’s right in the corner of the room.

The second bedroom not only has an artsy bed set, but it also has two single beds rather than a queen.

Its dark walls manage to highlight the black shelves that are right behind its desk and office chair.

Travelers who want to sleep in a king-sized bed can do so on the second floor.

The second-floor bedroom is the biggest of the three, and it also has the most natural light and a ceiling fan.

The green window trims in the big bedroom match the doors that lead to a balcony and they have a similar color to the cabinets in one of the bathrooms.

The bookshelf is complete with fun decorations, colorful books and a television that a guest can use multiple streaming apps on

The master bedroom is on the second floor of the house and is the biggest one of the three. It also includes a ceiling fan and access to a patio

The green cabinet bathroom only has one sink, but it appears to be the only one with colorful storage places and a circular mirror.

The second bathroom, part of the master bedroom’s en suite, that Ann and Cameron advertise is modern with a double vanity, an enormous walk-in shower and a jacuzzi bathtub.

The third bathroom, while different, is mostly a light colored room with shiny granite countertops and dark walls.

More than 40 house guests have left reviews for the house, which currently has a 4.96 rating on Airbnb.

The master bathroom has a jacuzzi bathtub and a double vanity sink

‘The home is spacious, pristine, and just gorgeous,’ wrote a Pennsylvania resident in March 2024.

‘We especially loved drinking our coffee on the beautiful front porch – welcoming and comfortable.’

‘I stayed for the weekend with two friends from high school for a low-key reunion and this gorgeous craftsman was the ideal place,’ a Californian traveler wrote.

‘All of us left thinking of ideas we had for our own homes after staying at this gem! If you’re needing a place to call your own in Atlanta, I’d recommend this home without hesitation.’
