According to Brazilian newspaper Globo, Antony called the Dutch strategist “bald egg head” in the team chat group. Notably, this message was later captured by Mason Mount and sent to coach Ten Hag.
It is unclear what the Brazilian striker’s intentions were, but Antony’s use of insulting words hurt the “Red Devils” head coach. The Dutch coach is said to have spoken privately with Antony after the match against Crystal Palace ended.
There is no further information about the conversation between the two people, but using such words towards the head coach certainly causes many disadvantages for Antony. If things become serious, this could be a sad end to the 2000-born striker’s journey at Old Trafford, causing a rift in the teacher-student relationship between the two.
Antony is the valuable rookie coach Ten Hag brought from Ajax to Man United when he sat in the hot seat at Old Trafford. Contrary to expectations, the Brazilian striker played lacklusterly, typically in the last 60 minutes against Crystal Palace.
As achievements went down, the atmosphere in Man United’s dressing room became even more gloomy because of the gap between Ten Hag and his students. After losing to Crystal Palace early in the morning of May 7, Man United fans continued to demand the dismissal of coach Ten Hag.
