Simone Biles Owens Says Haters Criticizing Her Wedding Hairstyle Can ‘Keep Complaining’

Amid haters and internet trolls, four-time Olympic gold medalist  Owens isn’t letting anyone take away her marital joy. Among the various noteworthy celebs who tied the knot this weekend was the gymnast and her NFL beau, Jonathan Owens. They married in an intimate courthouse ceremony in Houston on Saturday.

The 26-year-old bride basked in the special moment, sharing photos with her fans on Instagram and Twitter. She styled her hair back into an elegant, high ponytail with waves for the occasion, likely not expecting the criticism from fans who took issue with her baby hairs and edges not being perfectly slicked back.

The Twitterverse was flooded with discourse. One Twitter user called her hair “a mess.”

“I’m happy for Simone Biles Owens, but mfs acting like her edges didn’t look bad is annoying. It’s not hating to point out something factual???” another user commented.

Then, the athlete entered the chat. Simone quickly shut trolls down on Sunday, telling haters to “keep complaining” because she didn’t care.

She addressed the criticism by responding to a supportive fan.

“I think [haters] also forget I live in HOUSTON, TEXAS & I sweat those out!! Soon as we stepped outside for pics.” Adding, “But they can keep complaining, [I don’t care], [I don’t care], [I don’t care],” she wrote.

The gymnast complemented the hairdo with a plunging white sleeveless gown with a halter neckline and a four-tier tulle skirt. Simone completed the ensemble with white sandal heels and a white rose bouquet. After the ceremony, Simone revealed to her Instagram followers that the dress retails for just $119. She also confessed her shoes, bouquet and wedding band were Amazon purchases bought the week of.

“Not quite prepared for courthouse ceremony as I am for the big wedding,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

On Sunday, she shared the couple had a larger event planned for family and friends.

“We will be having a wedding in a couple weeks. We had to get married ‘legally’ here in the U.S. since our wedding will be a destination wedding,” Simone wrote.

Simone’s wedding wardrobe for her destination wedding, on the other hand, is already in the works. According to Page Six, the star divulged that in addition to two wedding dresses from renowned designer Galia Lahav, she would don a total of four outfits during her celebration. We can’t wait to see what Mrs. Owens will wear.

Congrats to the newlyweds!
