Most of us grew up with at least one local urban legend that haunted our nightmares. For me, it was the Goatman of Prince George’s County. No matter what creature, spirit, or person lived in infamy in your hometown, there’s no doubting the power of these stories. Director Colton Tran and writer Luke Genton tap into those fears with their new film Sorry, Charlie, coming to Tubi this month! And we’re excited to have an exclusive look at the trailer ahead of its release.

In the film,
Charlie, a remote helpline volunteer descends into a chilling realm of horror as the sinister whispers of “The Gentleman” resurface. This malevolent stranger lures unsuspecting women from their homes with a recording of a crying baby. In the depths of a fateful night, eerie echoes of a child’s cries pierce through the darkness outside her home, gripping Charlie’s heart with a sudden dread as she starts to suspect that she’s not alone.
Sorry Charlie had its world premiere at the 2024 Popcorn Frights Film Festival in Miami, Florida. Dread Central’s Mary Beth McAndrews reviewed the film out of the festival and said,
“Sorry, Charlie is an impressive feat of risk-taking for Tran and Genton. They’re asking their viewer for a lot of trust throughout the film’s more predictable beats, and those who invest in Sorry, Charlie will get that satisfaction.”
Kathleen Kenny and Maria Olsen star in the film.
