Trina & Gio’s Whirlwind Love Story Derailed By Spencer’s Return

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease a romance on the horizon between Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Tabyana Ali).

While it seemed at first that Brook Lynn Quartermaine-Chase’s (Amanda Setton) cousin might be competition for Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) as he met Josslyn Jack (Eden McCoy) first at the wedding; during the Friday, June 14th episode, Trina was mesmerized by Gio’s violin-playing, and fans can tell she’s smitten.

General Hospital Trina – Drops Her Guard & Falls In Love

GH spoilers suggest that Trina and Gio will likely spend a lot of time together over the summer months.

Not only has Gio snagged that violin gig at the gallery, but it looks like Trina and Joss will be living in the apartment above the Quartermaine’s garage, which means they’ll be “running” into each other all the time.

Trina’s still grieving the loss of Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), so these two won’t become a couple overnight. It’ll take time for her to open her heart to love again, but fans shouldn’t rule that sparks will fly between Gio and Trina over the summer and heading into the fall.

She’ll try to resist her feelings for Gio – Trina also may feel “guilty” about being with another guy. But she will eventually come to terms with Spencer’s death and allow herself to love someone else. After all, Spencer would not want her to be alone for the rest of her life, right?

GH Spoilers – Spencer’s Explosive Return

While Nicholas Chavez has officially exited, this doesn’t mean that the Spencer character couldn’t be recast later this year.

It seems like GH is setting up the perfect soapy love triangle where Trina will believe Spencer is dead, only for her to open up her heart to another.

The bittersweet thing to all this is when she finally does allow her walls down, Spencer will return, very much alive only to see the “love of his life” has moved on.

Do you think Gio and Trina will fall in love, only for Spencer to return? Comment below!
