She opened up a world of film and television opportunities after being crowned Miss World in 2000.
But Priyanka Chopra revealed Thursday on the digital show People in 10 that she almost left a very different impression at the competition after suffering a wardrobe malfunction while being crowned.
The 38-year-old actress also opened up about another uncomfortable fashion emergency at the 2018 Met Gala.
Close call: Priyanka Chopra revealed Thursday to People that she had to hold her dress up after winning the 2000 Miss World title because the tape holding it to her bust failed from her sweating
‘The year 2000 and I won Miss World, my dress was taped on to me,’ Priyanka began to explain.
‘By the time I won at the end I was sweating so much ’cause it was so stressful that the entire tape came off.’
In order to hide that her dress wasn’t stuck to her skin anymore, Priyanka had to find a creative way to hold it up while not being inconspicuous.
‘The whole time while I was doing my walk or whatever when I won, I kept my hands like this in a namaste, which people thought was a namaste but actually was holding my dress up. So uncomfortable!’

Although she wasn’t in danger of exposing herself at the 2018 Met Gala, Priyanka described that look as one of her most uncomfortable to date.
‘My second Met Gala outfit was this blood-red Ralph Lauren, beautiful outfit with the gold hood,’ she said.
‘But the corset under that thing, I couldn’t breathe. I felt like it reshaped my ribs. So hard to sit during dinner and I obviously couldn’t eat too much during that night.’
Despite her discomfort all through the evening, none of it was visible as she stunned on the red carpet.

In January, Priyanka revealed to Us Weekly how she avoided another wardrobe malfunction while attending the Grammys earlier this year with her husband Nick Jonas.
The Quantico star stunned at the ceremony in a gorgeous white Ralph & Russo dress that plunged down below her navel and left little to the imagination.
Although the plunging front would have made anyone nervous, the dressmakers planned ahead with a nearly invisible bit of fabric that held her dress together.
‘So as much as people might think it would be hard to manage, they found this incredible tulle the same color as my skin tone and sort of held the dress together with that. So you can’t even see it in the pictures but there was no way it would have happened if they didn’t have that. It was like a netting,’ she explained.

‘Happy Karva Chauth everyone. Blessed to have my beautiful wife at home.’
