While Facebook Watch is still developing other narrative, scripted programs, the platform is expected to start focusing on unscripted fare.

All of the scripted programs will still be released by Facebook Watch as scheduled, but the company will be ‘paring down significantly’ their scripted shows.
Still, sources claim that Facebook Watch isn’t entirely abandoning scripted programming, but it’s unscripted shows have had more traction with users.
Two of the platform’s most popular offerings are non-fiction shows Red Table Talk featuring Jada Pinkett Smith and her family, and Mike Rowe’s Returning The Favor.

Facebook Watch’s shift to non-scripted mirrors YouTube Red’s shift, following early success like Cobra Kai.
But with so much competition from streaming platforms, cable networks and broadcast networks, streaming platforms like Facebook Watch and YouTube Red have had more success with non-scripted fare.

Facebook Watch returns to scripted fare with the third season of their hit show The Real Bros of Simi Valley, debuting February 14, starring Jimmy Tatro, Nick Colletti, Tanner Petulla and Cody Ko.
The platform will also launch Season 2 of Sacred Lies on February 20, which stars Juliette Lewis, Ryan Kwanten, Jordan Alexander and Kristen Bauer.
Facebook Watch also has a five-series deal with Crypt TV founded by Eli Roth, which included The Birch that debuted this fall.

The series also starred Kelly Marie Tran, Jovan Adepo, Mamoudou Athie and Janet McTeer.
Limetown is based on the popular podcast of the same time and also stars Stanley Tucci, Omar Elba and Sherri Saum.
