Dragon Ball: The Final Form Of Super Saiyan Rosé

Super Dragon Ball Heroes introduces a version of Goku Black with Super Saiyan Rosé transformations that go far beyond the original in power!

Dragon Ball Heroes has always fascinated fans with all the hypothetical, non-canonical forms that it continues to introduce. Some of this excitement comes from seeing characters like Baby or Majin Buu combine themselves with other enemies, while others appreciate movie villains like Janemba and Dr. Wheelo who gain power-ups that allow them to keep up with the modern Z-Fighters. Super Dragon Ball Heroes also reveals unexpected power-ups for unlikely characters, like Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time. There is also something to be said for how Super Dragon Ball Heroes expands upon the Demon Realm’s role in the series, like Dabura and Demigra’s fierce, new power-ups.

Even the Saiyans receive unique transformations in Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Most Dragon Ball fans are happy to see their favorite Saiyans finally achieve Super Saiyan 3 or some other form that they never reached in the main series. However, the Super Dragon Ball Heroes franchise has also come up with variations of Super Saiyans that aren’t featured anywhere else. One particularly interesting example sees Goku Black (that is, a variation of the villain who’s known as the Crimson-Masked Saiyan) reach higher levels of Super Saiyan Rosé. Crimson’s ultimate form is known as Super Saiyan Rosé Full Power. Crimson acquires this upgraded form in the New Space-Time War Saga of the Super Dragon Ball Heroes anime. This Full Power form is exclusive to Crimson, but it carries implications for the rest of the Saiyan race and their potential to develop their own Super Saiyan transformations.

Dragon Ball Daima: Can Being Kids Work?

Before breaking down the Super Saiyan Rosé Full Power transformation, one must understand the person who’s responsible for it– the Crimson-Masked Saiyan. This version of Goku Black has roughly the same origin story as his Dragon Ball Super counterpart. The only difference is that Crimson teams up with the Demon Scientist Fu rather than Zamasu. This is where Crimson receives his Dark Empire Mask.

Crimson and Fu work together to create the Pseudo Universe. This New Space-Time realm is an exact copy of Universe 7, save for the presence of living beings. Anything that happens to the Pseudo Universe will also occur in the genuine article. For example, the destruction of a building in the Pseudo Universe will destroy that same building in Universe 7. Fu and Crimson each have their reasons for creating the Pseudo Universe. Crimson plans to populate it with “pseudo-mortals,” only to kill them all. This will trigger the deaths of all of Universe 7’s mortals, thus completing the Project Zero Mortals agenda. Since the Pseudo Universe is uninhabited, no Gods of Destruction are active there to stop Crimson’s reign of terror.

Crimson gathers energy for creating pseudo-mortals by having warriors from across time and space fight in the Pseudo Universe. This includes the Z-Fighters and their Xeno counterparts, movie villains, the Evil Saiyan Cumber, and the mysterious Warrior in Black (Xeno Bardock). Crimson can also use the Pseudo Universe’s energy to power himself up. He uses this energy to heal whatever injuries he accrues in battle, which includes any seemingly fatal blows. The latter of which actually rewards Crimson with even greater power, thanks to his Saiyan biology. This deadly combination of near-immortality and a strategy to continually grow stronger hasn’t been seen since Perfect Cell. Any warrior who’s not strong enough to kill this demigod in one blow will be faced with defeat. This grim fate is only made worse by the immense power that Crimson gains from the special mask that he’s wearing.

How Is Super Saiyan Rosé Different From Other Super Saiyan Forms?

Besides the Pseudo Universe’s power and that of the mask, Crimson also has plenty of training to fall back on. Famously, Crimson is responsible for the death of 99 Gokus across other timelines, an effort that’s taken in order to hone Crimson’s body and prepare him for his greatest adversary. The events of the New Space-Time War Saga mark Crimson’s 100th battle with Goku on the 100th timeline. All these changes are likely what allow Crimson to reach the next level of Super Saiyan Rosé. Crimson cycles through a few phases of Super Saiyan Rosé before he reaches the Full Power form. First, Crimson uses his Super Saiyan Rosé 2 form to battle the Warrior in Black’s Super Saiyan state. Crimson holds a slight edge in this battle, but he ramps himself up to Super Saiyan Rosé 3 to guarantee his victory.

Super Saiyan Rosé 3 Crimson is no pushover. It takes the power of Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku to defeat Crimson in this form. In the manga, Goku is further aided here by Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, who has powered up this form with the assistanfe of an evil aura that would ordinarily cause him to go berserk. Regardless of the circumstances behind these transformations, this confrontation forces Crimson to use the energy of the Pseudo Universe to power up into his final form.

The first few Super Saiyan Rosé transformations mirror the traditional Super Saiyan variants in appearance, save for the hair and aura colors. In this regard, Super Saiyan Rosé looks more like a midway step between Super Saiyans 3 and 4. Super Saiyan Rosé has the long hair of Super Saiyan 3, but it also has the tail and red eye outlines of Super Saiyan 4. Additionally, the more that Crimson transforms, less of his mask remains. By the time that Crimson reaches his Full Power form, there’s barely any mask left to cover his face. This is the highest level of Super Saiyan Crimson that’s currently been attained in Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Gogeta disintegrates this threat before he can grow any stronger. The same thing happens to Super Saiyan Rosé Full Power Crimson in the manga, albeit by Goku and the Warrior in Black.

Could Crimson’s Super Saiyan Forms Be Used By Other Saiyans?

Crimson’s transformations imply a few broader things for Super Saiyans. Super Saiyan Rosé is still exclusive to Goku Black, but everything else about his transformations should be possible for other Saiyans. Super Saiyan Rosé is only Super Saiyan Blue by another name. By this logic, there should also be Super Saiyan Blue 2, 3, and Full Power.

Fans have speculated on such forms for years. Super Saiyan Blu, after all, is the application of Super Saiyan on top of the Super Saiyan God transformation. It stands to reason that more advanced stages of Super Saiyan can also be applied to Super Saiyan God for similar results. However, this would be the first official piece of Dragon Ball media to confirm that they are possible, albeit indirectly. The only question left is whether the Saiyans in the series will aim to attain these forms. Their use may require the characters to become considerably stronger than they already are. Crimson only achieves these new stages by taking energy from an entire universe. Thankfully, the Z-Fighters are no strangers to hard work, so they should be able to eventually acquire the necessary strength. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber may just need to be in working order.

It’s also reasonable to wonder if Dragon Ball‘s existing Super Saiyan forms are even worth pursuing further anymore. As things stand, the mainline Saiyans all have character-specific power-ups that surpass Super Saiyan Blue, such as Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego, Gohan Beast, and more. Even Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue Evolved form may be better than the height of a hypothetical Super Saiyan Blue Full Power. Unless these Super Saiyan Blue upgrades can be stacked on top of the Saiyans’ exisiting power-ups, there’s no reason to pursue them. Then again, Dragon Ball‘s future is full of surprises.
