Swifties claim the Mahomes gatehalted Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift at the Christmas party.

Swift and Kelce have expressed a desire to keep their relationship private

The Kansas City Chiefs‘ starting quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, and his wife Brittany threw a big Christmas party over the weekend that left Taylor Swift fans incensed as neither of them uploaded a photo of her nor her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

The couple have been the centre of attention for the fans of the music artist, dubbed “Swifties”, since they began dating in September 2023. Swift’s boyfriends are often a source of inspiration for her music and fans love to track the relationships as a result, even if she wants them to remain private.

So at the Mahomes’ Christmas party held at “Miracle on Main Street” in Kansas City, Missouri, disappointed fans who deduced that the Eras Tour performer and her new man were in attendance (dressed as squirrels) but managed to avoid social media posts.

One fan replied to a post on Instagram with: “Gatekeeping should be illegal especially the pictures of Tay and Trav matching”.

Whilst another went on to add: “Lyndsay and Blake look great and so do you and Patrick but Tavis [a portmanteau of their names]”.

A third posted: “We’re begging you here to show us the squirrels”, and a fourth concurred by writing, “please show us the squirrels lolololol so it shuts the internet down lolololol also you are all v cute. Merry Christmas”.

Kelce previous spoke about their shared desire to remain private and out of the spotlight on the podcast he shares with his brother, but a star like Swift will get little respect for that wish.

“I know I brought all this attention to me, right?” Kelce said to “New Heights”. “I want to respect both of our lives. She is not into the media as much as I am doing this show every week.”

Chiefs lose in Week 13

In what was a bit of an upset, the Green Bay Packers defeated the AFC West leaders 27-19 at their home venue of Lambeau Field.

The Chiefs’ defense allowed points in every quarter, conceding seven in each of the first three before sixth in the final. The offense did turn up, scoring 19 points themselves as Mahomes threw for 210 yards and one touchdown, but was sacked three times.

The Chiefs maintain a two-game lead at the top of the division as the Denver Broncos, occupying second place, also lost in Week 13. The Missouri-based team will look to get the show back on the road against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14 on December 10.
