UFC bigwig Dana White has continued to tease the “super fight” currently being worked on by the promotion.

The veteran promoter revealed late last month that he and UFC matchmakers are working on an incredibly fan-friendly bout.

MMA fans around the world have been wracking their brains wondering who will take part in White’s publicly teased fight.

White was quizzed about it in the aftermath of UFC Austin early on Sunday morning but kept his cards incredibly close to his chest.

He said: “It’s just a fight that’s going to happen, could potentially happen in 2024.

“And everybody is asking me who it is.”

When asked who the fight involved, White went silent and smiled at the attending media.

According to White, the “super fight” being worked only became a possibility last week.

During an appearance on the Full Send podcast, he said: “We’re talking about one right now that just popped up a few days ago.

“I can’t talk about it right now until we get everybody [on board].”

Conor McGregor’s name was immediately at the forefront of MMA fans’ minds as soon as White began teasing the much-talked-about fight.

But the veteran promoter said: “Every fight that you would consider a super-fight would involve McGregor, but this one isn’t.”

McGregor is slated to face Michael Chandler in his eagerly-anticipated comeback fight, which was expected to land on UFC 300 in April.

Although White has refused to confirm if former three-time Bellator champ Chandler will indeed welcome the Irishman back to the octagon.

The veteran promoter said: “100 per cent he fights next year. We’ll see [who he fights], we’ll see. The timing of when it goes down.

“The good thing for guys like Chandler, and there’s a lot of s**t talk of fighter pay and all that other s**t, you don’t see these guys hurrying up to fight.

“Jon Jones takes off for f***ing years, Chandler can hang out and wait for f***ing Conor.

“When you think about Chandler, Chandler was f***ing fighting in Bellator.

“Now, Chandler can just sit around and take his time and wait for Conor however long it takes.

“These guys are all in good positions where they can wait for the right time and right fight.”
