Scarlett Fernandez Recovering In Hospital From Tumor Removal

General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that while Charlotte Cassadine has been up to no good as of late, stalking Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and trying to break up her relationship with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), her portrayer, actress Scarlett Fernandez has been in the hospital, trying to recover from non-ossifying fibroma, by having a tumor removed.

General Hospital Spoilers – Scarlett Fernandez Updated Fans On Social Media

GH centers around the happenings within the little town of Port Charles, but the hospital is a key focus within storylines. Has life (sort of) imitated art in this case?

The actress recently added a post on Instagram, with a picture of herself in a hospital bed; it was clear that she was not on the GH set.

In the post, she wrote that “Tyler the tumor” had been “evicted”. She also thanked Dr. Bell, her “amazing” surgeon, and all the “wonderful” nurses at St. Luke’s Health System, tagging the hospital.

She added some hashtags in the post, which included #fakehospitals>realhospitals, #godisgood, and #nonossifyingfibroma.

GH Spoilers – What Is Non-Ossifying Fibroma?

A condition where a benign bone tumor is comprised of fibrous tissue, such as scar tissue, non-ossifying fibroma is a non-cancerous growth that develops.

The reasons behind the growth are unknown. In most situations, treatment is not needed; however, in different circumstances, surgery is an option.

It’s unclear if the condition and recovery process means that Charlotte won’t be seen in Port Charles for a while. She has been a staple in storylines recently but isn’t always onscreen regularly.

Scarlett has been playing Charlotte Cassadine since 2016 and took a two-year break from 2021 to 2023. The role was recast twice during that time.

When actress Amelie McLain stepped into the part for a majority of Scarlett’s hiatus, while AnaSofia Bianchi participated in one episode as the young Cassadine.

Still, there’s nothing like the original, and fans everywhere rejoiced when Scarlett returned during a July episode, earlier this year.

A former Hamas hostage bravely shared how she was beaten and sexually assaulted by the terrorists who kidnapped her as she confronted the leader of a university encampment that was set up earlier this year to protest Israel’s war in Gaza. Moran Stella Yanai, who was snatched from the Nova Festival and held hostage for 54 days, urged UCLA encampment leader Aidan Doyle to understand the facts of the conflict as the pair came face to face at a debate in Southern California. Doyle, who previously praised the October 7 massacre, refused to make eye contact with Yanai as she shared the traumatic details of her kidnapping by Hamas, the brutal violence she faced in captivity, and how Gazan civilians celebrated her capture.
