It’s 2016, which means that on the spookiest night of the year, there’s no need to limit your look to just scary or sexy. Halloween has now morphed into an epic, often days-long celebration of the otherworldly that allows us to transform into silly characters and wear pieces of clothing we’d never be caught dead in otherwise.
And who just so happens to be on the top of their costume game? Hollywood’s hottest stars. Take Anne Hathaway, for instance, who in 2004 took on the role of the queen of the Nile for Heidi Klum’s highly anticipated annual Halloween party. She naturally met the royal expectations with a gilded crown and matching jewels, but also managed to keep it glam with a sleeveless, caped frock.
Others like Jake Gyllenhaal hilariously scared the neighbors dressed as a furry gorilla, while throwback couples like Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon adorably rocked matching costumes. Theirs? Carey dressed as cookies while Cannon was, well, the milk.
