“It was originally supposed to be on his album,” Minaj said. “And it’s crazy how I always wanted it for my album.”

There was speculation leading up to Drake’s most recent album For All The Dogs that Minaj was going to be on it, but fans and music listeners were disappointed when she was nowhere to be found.

Apple music’s Zane Lowe sat down with Minaj and she discussed the tracklist for Drake’s album, where she said: “You know, I have a song on Drake’s album coming out soon, too. I love the song so much. I’ll just say I really love the song. I know my fans are going to love the song. I know the world’s going to love the song. And that’s all I will say about that.”

Either way, “Needle” is now out for the world to hear. You can listen to it below.
