A taste of Axel Foley is back, courtesy of Netflix! The streaming giant has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, the long-awaited fourth movie in the series, bringing Eddie Murphy’s beloved character back to life after four decades.

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for the long-awaited fourth installment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, and it looks like the Detroit detective hasn’t lost his touch. It’s been almost four decades since Eddie Murphy first brought Axel Foley to life, and the iconic character’s charisma shines brighter than ever in this new adventure.

The original Beverly Hills Cop, introduced in 1984, proved to be a cultural sensation, not only highlighting Murphy’s comedic prowess but also reshaping the landscape of action-comedy films. This success led to the creation of two sequels in 1987 and 1994.
The trailer comes two days after Netflix teased the film in a post shared on X, formerly Twitter.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley reunites Murphy with franchise co-stars Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinchot. New to the franchise are stars including Kevin Bacon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Taylour Paige.
What Has Made Fans Upset?
Though fans are enthusiastic about the fourth installment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, one thing surely makes them upset. The decision to bring it on the OTT platform over theatrical release is what disappoints them.

Beverly Hills Cop isn’t the only 1980s film Murphy has returned to; in 2021, he appeared in Coming 2 America, which was a sequel to the 1988 comedy Coming to America.
