Stephen Curry’s Clutch Performance Lifts Warriors To Victory vs. Nets, Ends 3-Game Slide

Stephen Curry rose to the occasion, scoring an impressive 12 consecutive points in the fourth quarter, contributing to his total of 37. Klay Thompson supported with 24 points, including crucial back-to-back threes in the final moments, helping the Warriors end their three-game losing streak with a 124-120 victory over the Brooklyn Nets during the NBA’s Saturday slate.

“Steph was sublime down the stretch. That was unreal,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “We’ve seen him do this over and over again, but it never ceases to amaze me what that guy is capable.”

In a moment of sheer elation, Stephen Curry and the sidelined Gary Payton II shared a triumphant roar during a timeout, reflecting the Golden State Warriors’ much-needed relief after enduring a challenging week marked by losses and Draymond Green’s indefinite suspension.

The Nets, led by Cam Thomas with 41 points and Spencer Dinwiddie with 16 points and a season-high 14 assists, lost their third game in four during their current western tour. Despite a late challenge from Brooklyn, including a pivotal three by Royce O’Neale, Curry’s consistent shooting in the final quarter, where he scored 16 points without missing a shot, proved decisive.

“I live with the shots every night; they went in tonight,” Curry said. “I’m very aware.”

Curry’s performance boosted the team’s morale, which was especially important given the Warriors’ recent struggles in closing games. The victory was hard-fought, with Golden State’s 14 turnovers leading to 29 points for Brooklyn.

“We’ll help him,” Thompson said of Curry. “I know it’s coming, it’s early still.”

Warriors rookie Brandin Podziemski impressed in his second consecutive start, contributing 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Andrew Wiggins played off the bench for the second game in a row.

Off the bench, Dario Saric scored 12 points, and Chris Paul provided 11 assists in the Warriors’ first home game since Green’s suspension. Kerr kept details of Green’s situation private, emphasizing the team’s full support for him.

“I can’t really share that. That’s really private,” Kerr said. “What I can tell you is that Draymond has our full support, that Draymond is himself very much committed to creating the change that he wants to see and that we all want to see.”

Having lost 12 of their last 16 games, the Warriors managed to extend their home winning streak to five games. Kerr remains optimistic about the team’s potential for a turnaround.

“We know we’re capable of getting on a run and I think that’s coming,” Kerr said.

Next up, the Nets will face Utah on Monday night before heading home, while the Warriors will play in Portland on Sunday to complete their back-to-back home and road games.
