The Olympic gymnast and football star will be apart for six weeks while he starts the new NFL season
Simone Biles is saying goodbye to husband Jonathan Owens for six weeks as the newlyweds deal with their long-distance marriage.
The Olympic gymnast, who is based in Houston where they met, made it up to Green Bay for her husband’s first regular-season Packers game on Sunday. Biles, 26, shared a photo of the two of them after the Packers 38-20 win over the Chicago Bears on her Instagram Story, writing “see you in 6 weeks babe.”
In an interview with Hoda Kotb on the Today show last week, Biles opened up about how the couple are making their marriage work long-distance for the time being, which began “less than a week” after their wedding in Cabo San Lucas. “Right after Cabo he went to Green Bay and signed, and two days later, he was up there, so it’s been different.”
Biles, who won her eighth national title in California last month, shared a positive element to their long-distance relationship. “At least we’re both busy and focusing on our respective sports. It’s been nice.”
The time apart also helps the couple “cherish the moments that we get together,” she added.
Biles told Kotb, 59, that Owens was “doing great out in Green Bay” and “has his first game against Chicago this weekend,” during the show
ast week, the newlyweds reunited after spending time apart while Owens, 28, prepared for the NFL season.
Biles posted a romantic photo on Instagram of her and Owens’ hands, writing “back together again🤞🏾,” in the post, to which her husband — who previously played for the Houston Texans — added in the comments, “Back at home ❤️❤️.”

The couple is currently building a new home in Houston, and Biles recently shared photos of them visiting the construction site.
“Loading… 🏠🤍🛠,” Biles captioned the post.
It’s been a busy year for the athlete-spouses. They married in April at a courthouse wedding, with Biles sharing a romantic set of images of herself and the NFL star.
“I do 🤍 officially owens 🤍,” she captioned the post on Instagram.
The newlyweds tied the knot again during a second ceremony in Cabo San Lucas in May.
“Seeing Jonathan at the altar was a dream, Biles told Vogue. “Our guests were cheering for everyone. I was shocked by the love in the air. The ceremony was so beautiful and dreamy.”
“Whales were jumping out of the water as our ceremony started,” she added. “Whale season is over, by the way. It sprinkled for two minutes after we got married — which is good luck! — and we had a full moon. It was truly the most magical!”
