Entertainment magazine “TimeOut” of England has announced the “30 Best Albums of 2023”, synthesizing recommendations from editors and their teams on outstanding albums of the year.
Kim Taehuyng, aka V of BTS, stands out as the only K-pop artist on the prestigious list with his 6-track debut EP titled “Layover”.
Accordingly, the male idol’s album is ranked 19th in the top 30 best albums of 2023.
This helps TaeHyung be rated highly compared to other stars such as Lana Del Rey, Olivia Rodrigo, Sam Smith, Troye Sivan and famous singer-songwriters in the English-speaking music industry such as Raye and Cat Power.
TimeOut praised TaeHyung’s baritone, husky voice and jazz-influenced R&B sound, and chose ‘Slow Dancing’ and ‘For Us’ are their favorite songs from the album Layover.
“Among the seven members of Korean super band BTS, V was the last to release his solo music – the artist admitted to canceling some works in progress. The six-track EP features the idol’s debut, using his sweet, baritone voice for jazz-oriented R&B tunes with retro influences. – according to TimeOut magazine.
