During Sunday’s American Music Awards, Apple Music unveiled a new commercial that showed the 30-year-old hip-hop king killing it lifting weights … until a change in playlist caused a botch of epic proportions.
In the spot, the Toronto-based rapper, whose full name is Aubrey Drake Graham, is seen bench pressing a series of heavy weights, triumphantly pumping up to hip-hop as a pal spots him.

But when his friend steps out of the weight room – leaving Drake all alone – the Started from the Bottom artist flips his playlist.
When he begins blaring Swift’s hit Bad Blood, things go awry, as the buff Best I Ever Had hitmaker loses his grip and strength, wallowing in defeat amid the epic weightlifting fail.
The new ad served as something of a second part to a previously-aired commercial this past spring that saw Swift clumsily fall off a treadmill while jamming to Jumpman, the track Drake collaborated on with Future. The clever ad ended with a screen that read, ‘Distractingly good.’

Taylor enjoyed the ad, as she took to Instagram and wrote, ‘YES,’ tagging Drake and adding emojis of a flexed arm, a thumbs up and stars. She added the hashtag, ‘#DrakevsBenchPress.’
Apple Music tweeted a link to the ongoing saga, as they wrote, ‘No mercy this year. LET’S GET IT,’ tagging the artists with the hashtags, ‘#AMAs #DrakevsBenchPress.’
Drake might not have been able to defeat the bench press, but that’s about the only losing battle he’s fought as of late: The rapper, who broke a previous AMA record set by the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, with 13 nominations on the night, had already captured two awards early on in the ceremony.

Drake won favorite rap/hip-hop artist and favorite rap/hip-hop album for his latest album, Views.
Despite his unending streak of success, the heartthrob had an air of humility accepting the honors for the album.
He said, ‘I really want to thank everybody who helped me make this album. I want to thank the city of Toronto, and of course I want to thank the fans and my parents. My dad’s here tonight.’
