While he continues to heal from shoulder surgery, Andy Robertson is still hoping to rejoin the Liverpool team in January, according to Jurgen Klopp.
During the October international break, the Scot injured his joint while playing for his country, necessitating surgery.
Although he hasn’t played since, Klopp says he’s still on schedule to return in the New Year.
Even though Robertson’s shoulder soreness is now fairly mild, he is beginning to become annoyed that he cannot participate in training.
Klopp: “Andy is doing pretty well. I sat with him yesterday.
“He needs to exercise a little more patience as the shoulder is absent, but the rest of his body is fine.”
He finds it very annoying that he cannot participate in ball training, even though he can already perform all the physical labour. He may be able to pass a little bit, but not correctly.
But I don’t think he will be back for very long after he is given the all-clear to leave. We’re all hoping for January, but I’m not sure.
Since Robertson’s injury, he has missed the last fifteen games. Klopp has relied more on Kostas Tsimikas in Robertson’s absence and also on Joe Gomez and youth players.
Regarding the other injuries to Liverpool, Klopp stated that Ryan Gravenberch is “fine” for the game against Arsenal, but Diogo Jota and Alexis Mac Allister are “getting closer,” so they will “not be ready” for Saturday’s encounter.
