A brilliant Nigerian lady named Joy Abogu has baaged a Law degree with first class honors at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She also won a full scholarship to continue her education at the Nigerian Law School.
Joy Abogu obtained her bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) from the University of Ibadan (UI) after 7 years instead of the normal academic timeline of 5 years due to several challenges. She was awarded the Davidson Oturu Mentorship Programme Law School Scholarship.
The Davidson Oturu Mentorship Programme launched the Law School Scholarship Fund in 2022 to support qualified students attending the Nigerian Law School who lack financial resources.
Joy shared her achievement of winning the scholarship on her LinkedIn highlighting all of her accomplishments.
She said she graduated with a first-class degree, won the best graduating student award from her department has now secured a fully-funded Law School Scholarship within the space of six months.
”In a space of 6 months: -I graduated with a First Class Law degree from UI. -Won the BGS award from my departmentAnd I’ve now secured a fully-funded Law School Scholarship,” she said.
Joy stated that winning the scholarship means a lot to her expressing her gratitude to her benefactor, Mr Davidson Oturu, for his selflessness and commitment to giving back to society through the scholarship and mentorship scheme.
