GENERAL Hospital fans are taking Jacklyn Zeman’s character, Bobbie Spencer, being written off the long-running soap opera pretty hard.

Jacklyn portrayed Bobbie on General Hospital until she died shortly after her cancer diagnosis.

Holding fast to real life, General Hospital showrunners concluded the actress’ storyline with a funeral.

Bobbie’s funeral was held on the daytime program’s Wednesday episode.

Beloved General Hospital characters like Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), Laura Spencer (Genie Francis), and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) came back to pay their respects to Bobbie.

Faithful fans also tuned into the TV show to watch the fictional community of General Hospital send-off Bobbie.

Cementing the end of Jacklyn’s run on General Hospital.

On X, which used to be Twitter, fans admitted that today’s emotional episode pulled at their heartstrings.

“No YOU’re crying over a soap opera funeral. #GH #RIPBobbie,” one fan tweeted.

Another fan added: “Now I’m crying #GH. Bobbie working to prevent human trafficking in Amsterdam.”

A third person admitted: “I’m actually glad the last half of the episode is lighter… the funeral was making me a little too sad #GH”

Jacklyn first joined the iconic ABC soap opera in 1977 and appeared in more than 800 episodes, Deadline reported.

She was nominated for five Daytime Emmy awards over the course of her career, four of which were for her performances on General Hospital.

The New Jersey native grew up studying ballet and attended New York University to major in dance.

But she ended up focusing on acting instead.

Jacklyn has also appeared in shows including The New Mike Hammer, Sledge Hammer! and Chicago Hope.

She is survived by two daughters.

ONE LAST TIME

Jacklyn’s last Instagram post was a video celebrating General Hospital’s 60th anniversary.

Fans commemorated the star in the post’s comment section.

“So very sad to hear about her passing! Rest in peace!” one Instagram user said.

“Thanks for the 45 years I watched GH and you being one of my favorites! Prayers to her family and the cast of GH!”

Others commemorated the star on Twitter.

“I appreciate everything Jackie Zeman gave to us,” one user tweeted.

“A truly iconic actress and I hate that this has happened to the GH family. I really have no words.”

Another heartbroken fan tweeted that “General Hospital will never be the same.”

ABC Entertainment also released a statement about Jacklyn’s death, which was obtained by Dateline.

“She leaves behind a lasting legacy for her Emmy-nominated portrayal of the bad girl turned heroine and will always be remembered for her kind heart and radiant spirit,” the company said.
