Patrick Mahomes was missing a key piece of his wardrobe during a fancy fashion shoot for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The reigning Super Bowl MVP dressed the part in a grey suit, white shirt and black tie.
There were a few people surprised to see QB1 turn up in the Crocs
But while several of his teammates wore required dress shoes for the shoot, Mahomes showed up with white Crocs that didn’t exactly fit the requirements for an event honoring the team’s playoff captains.
“What do you want me to do with these shoes?” Mahomes was asked by a photographer.
“Do I need shoes?” Mahomes replied, clearly comfortable in his footwear.
Even the Chiefs’ official account teased the team’s franchise quarterback in a clip taken from ‘The Franchise’.
“Surely QB1 didn’t wear Crocs to the playoffs captains shoot,” Kansas City posted on social media.
Brittany Mahomes, the QB’s wife, made sure the world knew that she did her job — the white Crocs were her husband’s fault.
“I definitely put shoes in there. Come onnnnn,” she posted, adding a couple laughing emojis for good measure.
Travis Kelce was also chosen as one of the Chiefs’ playoff captains and revealed what makes Kansas City’s system unique.

Travis Kelce also wore casual shoes but upped his game compared to Mahomes’ Crocs
“Coach Reid does the captains deal for the team a little bit different,” Kelce said.
While most NFL teams keep their captains the same throughout the season, Kansas City regularly changes its on-field leaders.
“When it comes to the playoffs, he (Reid) does a team vote,” Kelce said. “He lets the players vote on who the captains are.”
Fans loved the sight of Patrick in Crocs, teasing the QB with a $450 million contract who could afford any pair of dress shoes that he wanted to buy.
“Why didn’t Patrick bring shoes for Patrick?” one fan tweeted.
“Only Patrick would wear Crocs,” a second fan posted.
“Wow! You guys look sharp,” a third fan said.
